For the people actually on the mat

Every round you roll.
Waiting after class.

Someone starts the camera when rolling starts. Every round is cut on the buzzer and ready soon after. Tap yourself once, and minutes later it is broken down by position — so where your mat time actually goes stops being something you half-remember.

— no password needed, and it is how you get back in if you have forgotten yours.

Your coach approves new members, usually the same day. If your gym hands out a code, pick "My gym isn't listed" and skip that. We email you a link to confirm your address either way.

You'll be the first coach, and you get a code to hand your members straight away. Using your gym's own email address (you@yourgym.com) gets you listed publicly on first sign-in — otherwise your gym still works fully, members just join with the code rather than finding you in a list.

How it works

From the mat to your phone in four steps.

  1. Start the camera

Somebody presses record when rolling starts. That is the only thing anyone does on the mat.

  2. Roll

Your coach's round timer cuts the footage into rounds. Nobody touches a phone.

  3. Tap yourself

Open the round after class and tap where you are on the mat.

  4. See your breakdown

A few minutes later: every position you were in, and what to work on next.

What you get

A film session after every class, without the film session.

Your roll, not the whole mat

Five pairs can be in frame. One tap tells it which one is you, and everything after that is about your roll.

A coaching read on every roll

What went wrong, why it opened the counter, and how to fix it — plus one thing to take into your next class.

Where the time actually goes

Three and a half minutes stuck under side control is the thing worth drilling. Over months, the pattern is the coaching.

Gi and no-gi are kept apart, because they are nearly different games. Open any position for the escapes and entries to drill, and what went wrong in your own rounds.

Drills from your rolls

A quick quiz on the positions you actually end up in, so the answer is there before you need it on the mat.

Bring your own video

A round a partner filmed or your competition match. Any phone, any format — and a match stays private to you.

Coaches see the whole mat

Every round at your gym, not just the classes you taught. Athletes ask questions pinned to the second they happened, and you answer right there — a note addressed to them, at that moment in the video.

“A black belt is a white belt who never quit.”

A saying on jiu-jitsu mats everywhere
For gyms

Cameras. That is the whole install.

Any camera that can stream to a Custom RTMP server works, and most action cameras and many webcams can. Mount it, paste the server and stream key from Settings, and press record when rolling starts.

Nothing else in the gym

No box, no port forwarding, nothing on your network. The camera sends to us; we do the rest.

You approve who joins

Members sign up with your gym's code, and you approve them, so the member list stays the people who actually train there.

Members can add their own

Somebody with their own camera at open mat can set it up themselves. What it records is theirs, not the gym's.

Questions

Good to know.

How soon can I watch my round?

Each round is ready shortly after the timer beeps. Tap yourself in it, and your breakdown follows a few minutes later.

Who can see my rounds?

Members your coach has approved can watch your gym's rounds. A match you upload is private to you until you share it — not even your coach sees it unless you say so.

How long is footage kept?

Thirty days, then it is deleted automatically. Keep the rounds you want to hold on to, or download any round you were in. Your stats stay after the video is gone.

What camera do I need?

Any camera that can stream to a Custom RTMP server — the setting is usually called exactly that in the camera's app. Start it a minute before the rolls begin.

Can I upload a video I filmed myself?

Yes. One roll per upload, any length, from any phone or camera. We convert it so it plays everywhere.
